When we arrive at Bad Kissingen, it goes slightly downhill, and our car managed to get up to speed.
And what happens…… Blitz
The police keep watch and do speed checks there.
Then it's just a matter of waiting in anticipation and seeing what comes home in the mailbox.
We follow the signs for Abenteuer & Allrad, which has created a campsite for all the pilgrimages from all over Europe.
Even though the space has only been open for a few hours, it is packed with cars.
Here is a picture showing maybe 10%, of the huge area they have available.
We drive around and around and finally we find a place where we can stop at the edge of the road.
This is our camp for the next few days.
In the evening, we go for a walk in the camping area and look at all the others
4-wheel drive.
Some are primitive, others have gone completely crazy with equipment.
So it's a very broad spectrum. But it's fun to watch it all.
There will be barbecues and campfires to enjoy.
After breakfast, we take the bus out to the exhibition area. They don't want all the cars out there, so in best German Ordnung style, everything is arranged. We line up nicely in the bus queue.
At the fair there is everything between heaven and earth.
Both of equipment for outdoor life, but also cars for the rich oil sheiks.
What is the point of bringing your car into the car? It may now also be too big in our opinion.
You can always dream.
Bertil is not exactly fantastic to have with you at the trade fair. He already thinks he owns Germany, so if another dog comes, he gets angry.
It doesn't really work, so we withdraw and then Johnny goes to mass alone.
After a few lovely days in the sun, we drive on towards France.
Best as we come driving on the highway, we see a large plane on a pedistal.
Wondering what it's all about?
We drive off the next exit and follow the plane.
It is the technical museum in Speyer. With a technical geek on board the car, we must go in and have a look.
It is a really big museum, with everything you can imagine.
There is space travel, historic cars, submarines, motorcycles, locomotives, fire trucks and large airplanes.
On one plane, they have peeled the insides out, so you can see directly from the passenger seats down into the hold..
On many of their planes, which are mounted on high poles, a slide has been made from the door down to the ground.
Space is a department of its own with a space shuttle, satellites and mannequins with astronaut equipment on them.
The space shuttle is Russian and the space suit is American. There is a bit of everything.
At the historic cars, we find the ancestor of our GD.
These are some great exhibitions that they have made a lot of.
You can clearly spend many hours here, there is something for both children and adults.
